This is a contemporary landscape painting. It was inspired by the colours and heat of the summer in Andalucia, Spain last year.
The process of abstract painting is a very personal. For me it's more a feeling than anything else. The application of colour, texture and shape, the placement of one hue next to another or the wiping away of a corner and starting again. I used oil paint and lots of linseed oil layering up the canvas in stages. This cannot be measured - just felt. Sometimes it's hard. Sometimes it's easy.
